I have been "pulled over" by police roughly 15 times along my walks. Usually they are required to check into a call someone placed. In this case they thought I was a local named Olof, near the hamlet of Kathryn. Like in all the inquiries this policeman was very friendly and even agreed to take a photo of me.

Summary of the Trail

1980 - North Country NST

Winding through seven state, the North Country NST presents hikers with myriad natural and cultrual treasures. Linking unspoiled scenic landscapes and historic sites, this trail wanders across the Great Lakes states from the Adirondack Mountains in New York  to the Missouri River in North Dakota.  The trail was conceived in the 1960s during the Nationwide Trails Study and was included in the 1966 "Trails for America" report as a proposed NST. When completed it will be the longest continuous scenic trail at over 4,200 miles in length.  The Trail is administered by the National Park Service, while the ongoing tasks of blazing and maintaining the Trail are taken up largely by the North Country Trail Association and regional affiliates such as the Finger Lake Trail Conference (New York) and the Buckeye Trail Association (Ohio).  NCTA's mission is to develop, maintain, preserve, and promote the trail through a wide network of volunteers, chapters, partner organizations, and government agencies.
